Egg and Minced Meat Gratin Recipe

Ingredients :

500g (1 lb) minced meat (beef, pork, lamb, or a mix)

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

1 teaspoon dried herbs (e.g., thyme, oregano, or rosemary)

Salt and pepper to taste

4 eggs

200ml (3/4 cup) cream (heavy cream or half-and-half)

100g (1 cup) grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a combination)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cook the minced meat :

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft.

Add the minced garlic and minced meat, breaking the meat apart with a spoon.

Cook until the meat is browned, about 7-10 minutes.

Season with paprika (optional), dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

  1. Prepare the egg mixture :

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and cream until well combined.

Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  1. Assemble the gratin :
